Travelling is a great way to see other parts of the world, experience other cultures, meet new people, and taste unusual cuisines. However, when travelling half way across the world to an unfamiliar location without your luxuries, it can take you out of your comfort zone.

This blog discusses a few items that will help you improve the convenience of your journey, whether it is a short trip to your favorite holiday destination or a once in a life time trip around the globe.

Scrubba Wash Bag

The Scrubba Wash Bag is a packet-sized washing machine that is perfect for keeping your clothes clean on the go. Simply pop your clothes into the bag, add a cleaning solution, fill the bag with water and seal it. You can then work the item of clothing from the outside of the bag with your hands to simulate the washing experience.  After a few minutes, you can open the bag, squeeze the water from the bag, and add fresh water to rinse.

Its portable, doesn’t require any large buckets or containers, and you won’t even get your hands wet!

ThermaCell Rechargeable Heated Insole

The ThermaCell Rechargeable Heated Insoles can slip into your footwear and are designed to keep your feet toasty warm. The soles are charged via USB, and they have 3 settings (no heat, medium, and high) that can be changed via a remote control. They come in various sizes and can be recharged up to 500 times.

The GoTenna was designed to send texts and obtain GPS on your phone, even without service. The device pairs with your mobile phone and creates a peer-to-peer network with other goTenna devices, to decrease the need for a centralised communications infrastructure. Due to its low bandwidth, it is only limited to text messages and GPS, but it can give you up to 50 miles range. GoTenna users can also communicate directly with each other by using the GoTenna messaging service.

The Comsol power bank is 20,000mAh capacity USB charging station. It is 185mm in length, 125mm in width, 15mm thick and weighs around 500g. It takes approximately 4 hours to charge to full capacity and can keep the average smart phone running for around a week or more.

Alongside smart phones, it also has the ability to charge most laptops. It comes with various adaptors to support this feature. The output voltage can also be switched between 16v and 12v to support other devices.

The downside is that it only comes with a single USB port and is larger than most portable chargers.
